Hi guys, I really enjoy using copic markers again. But I should remind myself more often, that it's a stupid idea to draw on one page with graphite and on the back of it with copics :( Except for that I'm still working on my illustration and I'm also still into landscapes. It's a nice change to all that women :D

Hi everyone, my boyfriend reminded me yesterday that it might be time, that I finish one of my pieces instead of only studying all the time. So I started to refine this one: [initial sketch] [color scheme] I find it really intimidating to do a whole piece, so I decided to do it in little steps. First outlines, determine light sources, draw light and shadow areas with lines, doing gray scale and last but not least colors. It's still a really big task, so let's see how far I get. I also started to do landscapes this week. All from imagination right now. But I will start to do studies soon. Beside from that I tried to draw one character over and over again with different expressions. Also did thumbnails and concepts. Most productive week so far this year. And it has only started :D So here are some anatomy studies, focusing on the torso area. Also trying to understand the underlying muscles and bones. I started doing photo studies and then tried to draw the same girl again, only this time from my memory without looking at the photo reference or my drawing of it. This way you really have to focus on what you are drawing so that you are capable of doing it again without reference. Love this exercise! Hi guys, I totally forgot to tell you that since around christmas I'm drawing in a sketchbook on a regularly basis. I never liked it, because my hand doesn't has the freedom like on a loose sheet of paper. And if I loose it all my drawings would be gone, etc pp. But when you started it really motivates you to draw every day, because you want to fill it. You want to have something to show :) Ah and if you wondered, my sketchbook is an A5 format. Now that I have the time again, I will update this blog on a weekly basis. At the moment I start everyday with a 30min gesture drawing class on pixelovely. To warm up. And afterwards I start with my usually studies, drawings, painting etc. So here you have a little peek into my sketchbook. Two days of gestures and a face drawn from photo reference. 'til next week! |
