Also I persuaded him to finally start a blog, so that we can all follow his progress. He is doing this project next to his studies and he so dedicated it's a joy to see how he is taking this project forward. Also he explains what he is doing programming wise. Hi guys, in the third week of my freelance work for Javier I finished my second milestone, which is a good time frame, because so there are three weeks left for the other half of the project :) I really love working for my friend from New York, because we communicate al lot and so we can make sure everything looks like he wants it to look :D Also I persuaded him to finally start a blog, so that we can all follow his progress. Hey :)) Like you may have guessed the game is super hero themed. Main character is bat-stick-man. He has to fight all the personal heroes of Javier youth which turned evil. Which would be a ninja turtle, a power ranger, a dragon ball z character and spawn himself. But I'm sure you already now that :) I'm nearly done with the first milestone to this time. So here some more character animations for you guys. Oh and it's the first time I ever did 2d animations. So I think they turned out pretty well keeping that in mind. I hope I will get more opportunities of doing these, I would love to learn more about it! And sadly last week I only could work until thursday, because friday my photoshop kept crashing all day. At tuesday my whole PC was set up fresh and I could finally start working again :/ Hi everyone, I did it! I have my first freelance job in the games industry =) For the next six weeks I'm doing game assets for a 2d side scrolling game. Assets include Character design, animations, backgrounds and tiles. Javier (my client) is really easy to communicate with and totally uncomplicated. We split the project in four milestones. The first one includes character design and most of the animations. The best part is that he allowed me to show you all my progress with the project. So here it goes! PS: I will upload it all in the time frame I did it, but I will wait with it until the milestone is completed and the graphics are his :) Hi guys, this week I don't have much to show, because currently I'm mainly trying to get my portfolio out there to get a freelance job. I'm already in negotiations with two possible clients. Let's see how it will turn out. I did some sketching this week, but the one I'm showing you here is the only one which looks kinda ok. This week I started to learn materials. So here a little stone for you ;) Hi guys, this week was great. First of I started in the new week with meeting a friend in a local café and drawing everything around us. It was really fun :) Additionally another friend and me are now working together. I'm trying to improve my drawing and painting skills and he is working on his own stuff. We are doing this from tuesday to friday every week now. And 'til now it is great :D So here you can see life drawing and life painting mainly. And also a lot of perspective drawings with constructed shadows. Love it! 'til next week! Hi guys, so this week I finally created my online portfolio. So that next week I can start with my applications. Currently I'm looking for freelance, part time and full time jobs as a 2d concept artist. If you are interested in working with me or want to give constructive feedback to my portfolio and work I would be glad about receiving an e-mail from you. The creation of my online portfolio took up most of the time I had this week. So only some sketchbook pages to show. See you next week! Hi everyone, I kept working on the mermaid piece and started to put colors in to check if the values work. Used the gradient map for it. I also did a photo study, to see how good my color picking and lying down shapes is right now. Afterwards I painted a face from imagination. Still lots to learn, but I won't give up. I also did a speed paint, which I really like. The atmosphere is great. Besides all that, I drew a lot in my sketchbook, from landscapes, over faces, drawing from life to perspective exercises. 'til next week! Hi guys, I really enjoy using copic markers again. But I should remind myself more often, that it's a stupid idea to draw on one page with graphite and on the back of it with copics :( Except for that I'm still working on my illustration and I'm also still into landscapes. It's a nice change to all that women :D Hi everyone, my boyfriend reminded me yesterday that it might be time, that I finish one of my pieces instead of only studying all the time. So I started to refine this one: [initial sketch] [color scheme] I find it really intimidating to do a whole piece, so I decided to do it in little steps. First outlines, determine light sources, draw light and shadow areas with lines, doing gray scale and last but not least colors. It's still a really big task, so let's see how far I get. I also started to do landscapes this week. All from imagination right now. But I will start to do studies soon. Beside from that I tried to draw one character over and over again with different expressions. Also did thumbnails and concepts. Most productive week so far this year. And it has only started :D |
